By-the-numbers episode. Not particularly funny or charming, and very predictable. Disappointingly ordinary. 6/10

Tony Hale. Solid balance between comedy and heart. Hale is perfectly cast and Minnie Driver is hilarious, lusting after him. 9/10

Dax Shepard . Minnie Driver positively shines in this episode, which is Fiona-centric and does a lot of work on her friendship with Will. She’s funny, sexy and adorable. And the story really gets you where you feel. 10/10

Will Sasso . Best episode so far, and first to really use Minnie Driver . Story completely driven by the premise, too. And it was very funny. 9/10

Andrea Anders. Delighted to see Leslie Bibb back on the show! Her character was easily the best thing about this very funny episode. Throwing her into the mix makes a huge difference to the show, giving Will someone a bit crazy who he can openly lust after and giving Fiona a much-needed friend. My favourite part of this story was when Dakota pitched in to help the other two save Marcus at the party. 9/10
About A Boy 1.3
The story this time out has nothing to do with the premise. It’s all about Will and his friend Andy, and neither Marcus nor Fiona impact on events. In fact they barely appear. Which is strange. I though they show was about Will and Marcus. It’s still a funny episode, however. Plenty of laughs. Annie Mumolo is very good. I look forward to seeing more of her in future episodes. 7/10

Hits all the beats you would expect, but the cast are good (particularly David Walton ) and it is funny in places. 9/10
