Forever 1.7

Generic case-of-the-week. Predictable. Show needs to do more than this, if it wants to give me a compelling reason to keep watching. 6/10

Forever 1.6

The case-of-the-week elements are generic and sadly predictable, but the fantasy element takes over completely in the final act and provides a much-needed icing on the cake. If not for all that, it would have been a weak episode. 7/10

Forever 1.5

Average murder mystery, driven by the fact that the hero is such a decent man. And the story has a point to make. Elevates it. 8/10

The 10 network shows I would save from cancellation.

I was over on TV By The Numbers and I was voting in their ‘which shows would save?’ poll and I noticed that I had selected two from each network. An accidental list of the 10 network shows I like most right now. And here it is!

Do you agree?

Forever 1.4

Kathleen Chalfant. Wow, what a romantic story. Really took me by surprise. That was a treat. Brought a tear to the eye, that did. 10/10

Forever 1.3

Mather Zickel. Enjoyable case-of-the-week, but the comedic elements fell flat. And the ‘dramatic climax’ made no sense. 5/10

Forever 1.2

James McCaffrey. Enjoyable case-of-the-week. Intriguing story arc tidbits but no Henry/Jo scenes!? 8/10

I was really hoping I would like Forever cos I adore Alana De La Garza :)

She was amazing on Law & Order, but I didn’t like Do No Harm so (assuming I stick with this show, and it lasts) this could be a chance to see her on TV every week again. Yay!

Forever 1.1

There’s nothing original about this, but it works wonderfully well. Ioan Gruffudd and Alana De La Garza are wonderful together. The show doesn’t try to be cute and/or funny like Castle. Instead, it simply establishes that both of them are very lonely. And it leaves them to chat to each other. Lovely. 9/10
