Jonathan Watton. Despite a very predictable reveal at the end of the story, this is still a hugely enjoyable hour of TV. Fast and funny, with superb character arcs for the regulars. While Season One was a lot of fun, it’s fair to say that Season Two is superior in every way. 9/10

Republic Of Doyle 2.5
Susan Kent . Another cute story, and another funny episode. The flash-forward teaser gimmick doesn’t quite work, because it feels like the episode really has to strain itself to place the characters in the jeopardy we’ve seen. But that’s really a minor flaw. All that matters is the story is fun and I was laughing as I watched. 9/10
Republic Of Doyle 2.4
Jonathan Goad. Establishes a convoluted story fairly easily and has a lot of funny and enjoyable character-driven scenes. This is such a breezy and cool show. Jake is great hero to follow, and the characters are all likeable. This episode also has a really good Jake/Tinny scene in the middle. I’ve really started to like her this season. The character was less interesting, less likeable, in season one. They really seems to worked on fixing that. 9/10
Republic Of Doyle 2.3
Don McKellar. As close to perfect as you can get. This is EXACTLY what this show should be. When you sit down to watch a light-hearted detective show you have certain expectations. You want a story that quirky and interesting, you want characters you like and want to cheer for, you want some action and - probably more than anything else - you want some laughs. Republic Of Doyle has all of this, and never has it been better displayed than in this episode. There’s nothing remarkable about, really. It’s just another case-of-the-week. But it hits the ground running, and the comedian client makes for a slight departure from formula. The story is ordinary, but it plays out fast with twists and turns and plenty of laughs (the banter between our hero and his dad has never been better), and reaches a highly satisfying conclusion. Honestly, if you sat down to make a private show of this type (and there have been many!) you could not possibly do better than this.
They even referenced Hardcastle And McCormick at one point!10/10

Lindy Booth. Good fun. Story gets from A to Z with some lumpy logic, but the show is funny and the characters are cool. 8/10
