Very funny episode with two strong storylines.

• The Bernadette/Penny storyline is the better one. It’s rock-solid, standard sitcom fare peppered with a lot of great one-liners. And, even better, at the core is a believable character issue for Bernadette.
  
• The ongoing Military storyline takes a big move forward here, and the guys move buildings at the end to take on a new job for the next few months. Exciting to see the show do a multi-episode arc again.
  
• Best scene: Sheldon not talking. That was hilarious.

What an amazing guest cast! Can we get a Penny’s family spin-off? They were easily the highlight of this busy and very funny episode. Other highlights include:

• Sheldon’s reaction to the idea of his mother having a romance.
• The vows at the end were really sweet.
  
• Bernadette shouting “Howard!” was priceless.

• The a-story doesn’t really go anywhere, but the b-story provides big laughs. Especially the bit where the guys think there is a car following them.
  
• Great to see Judd Hirsch on the show. That man simply does not age.

• Great use of Stuart in this one, hiring himself out to do minor tasks for everyone.
  
• Sheldon’s quirks are used to (successfully) generate the laughs in the queue storyline.
  
• Comedy in the other storyline comes from character, as the writers pair Penny with Leonard’s mother. Good pairing.

Great to see Brian Smith back on the show. And nice to see a Sheldon/Bernadette pairing for a change. 8/10

The Big Bang Theory 9.21

An episode that drew attention to, but didn’t really do much with, divisions within the group. The reappearance of Howard’s nut allergy seemed like a cop-out ending. 8/10

The Big Bang Theory 9.20

Both the a-story and the b-story were funny and interesting, and the Leonard/Penny scenes were terrific. Only the very last scene, a long conversation between Sheldon and Amy in the cabin, failed to work for me. The rest was a hoot. 10/10

Really sweet. Not the funniest episode, but Simon Helberg and Melissa Rauch are so good it deserves a 10/10, which makes it the 5th episode in a row that I’ve really loved! I don’t think that’s ever happened for BBT before.

The Big Bang Theory 9.15

Valentine’s Day. Damn, this show is on a roll. All the episodes since Christmas have been superb. This was hilarious. The live episode of “Fun with Flags” was way, way better than it had any right to be. Non-stop laughter. Very impressed. 10/10

June Squibb, Alessandra Torresani. Two great stories, both filled with big laughs. He was a late starter but, for a long time now, Raj has had the most interesting love life on the show. Very interested in seeing what happens next. 10/10

Another strong episode. Nice character moments for Sheldon. And nice writing for Emily, too. Biggest laughs: Stuart. 10/10

Jane Kaczmarek. Very funny, lots of laughs. And a script with lovely character moments for many of the regulars. Howard and Bernadette’s sudden realisation that they actually missed Stuart was probably my favorite overall. 10/10

Bob Newhart, Wil Wheaton. Funny, sweet episode. Loved the parallels between Star Wars and sex. Cute. 9/10

The Big Bang Theory 9.10

Lots of laughs and lots to like here, including the return of Stephen Merchant who had some terrific lines. The idea of giving Sheldon an earworm is somewhat inspired and yields much laughter. It also leads beautifully into the ongoing story arc and provides a lovely finish. 9/10
