Is Tara a traitor?

• This is pretty much a solo Tara story. Steed only appears properly in the second half, and even then it is really Tara who still carries the story. Steed shows up at the end to rescue her, at least.
  
• The first half is mysterious. The viewer has no idea what is going on.
  
• The reveal, when it eventually comes, is both brilliant and disappointing. Brilliant because it is so genuinely devious and scarily plausible. Disappointing because it’s not fantastical. Given that show regularly employs fantasy tropes in it’s storytelling, one is inclined to expect them. Here, however, is a purely espionage-driven script.
  
• Several great fight scenes.
  
• Great score.

Kate O’Mara, Roger Delgado. Another superb episode. Engrossing from the get-go, as the viewer tries to figure out what is going on. Original and clever, with many outstanding scenes, sequences and ideas. Sheer perfection, really. Macnee is at his absolute best here, and Thorson is so beautiful that words could never do her justice. It’s also a great episode for Tara King, with some great fight scenes and a real show of strength of character. 10/10

Terence Alexander, Patsy Rowlands. Truly superb. Quirky, engrossing, clever, and hilarious . Patrick Macnee is nothing short of magnificent, and Linda Thorson proves that she is his match, when Tara falls under the spell of the bad guy. It’s a real treat, this episode. 10/10

Frasier 8.11

Derek Jacobi, Patrick Macnee. Slim idea for a story. With a few chuckles along the way. Superb cast, however. Apparently, this is Macnee’s final TV credit. 4/10
