Steve Schirripa. There are some great lines here, witty one-liners, but it’s a silly story that doesn’t quite work and doesn’t advance the new story arc. 7/10
Call Me Fitz 3.1
Delightful season premiere, very much driven by Fitz, Dot and Larry working as a team. Is this the new status quo, moving forward? I hope so, as it really works, really kicks new life into the show. The season three story arc, which beings here, looks like it will be a lot of fun. 9/10
2014 BEST TV COMEDY #5 -> Call Me Fitz
Because…
- Jason Priestley.
- Witty dialogue.
- Surreal stories.
- In many ways, shows like this are a successor to shows like The Slap Maxwell Story from the ’80s, in that you have an ostensibly dislikeable main character who you end up liking despite all the horrible things they do.
- The show manages to inject real emotion at the oddest places and make us care about the characters.
- The characters are a horrendous, dysfunctional bunch. Horrible, horrible people.
- One of the maddest and most creatively self-confident shows on the air.
- Funny. Also: inventive and warped and dark. Offensive, too. Truly a unique, one-of-a-kind show.

Frantic season finale, which does a good job of referencing lots of previous incidents and providing a good/crazy/funny/surprising answer to the mystery that’s been bugging us all season. 9/10

Stuart Margolin. Most inventive episode so far, and one of the darkest. Doesn’t quite hold together, though. Last act is like something from a different episode. A bit disjointed. 8/10

Amy Kerr. Funny. Also: inventive and warped and dark. It has a wonderful, joyous twist (involving the story of the orange cat). And a much darker, shock ending. Truly a unique, one-of-a-kind show. 10/10
Call Me Fitz 2.10
Hilarious, inspired and occasionally heartfelt and sweet. Putting a reprehensible character like Fitz in an Amish community is sheer genius and pays off in spades. There are many wonderful moments, and some very witty dialogue. Many major storylines are resolved and the Meghan b-story is first class. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. 10/10

Fitz vs. Chester.
- So different to previous episode, it’s like watching a completely different show! This time out we get comedy from situation and character, not dialogue.
- And the story arc really seems to be ramping up. This episode ends on a pretty huge cliffhanger.
- Loving the way the Meghan b-story is going.

Hospital. Some amazing one-liners (the sort that make you go: “Huh? Did I really hear that right?”) in an funny episode that keeps the cast together most of the time, and consequently really drives home what a horrendous, dysfunctional bunch they truly are. Horrible, horrible people. But very funny to observe. 9/10

Joanna Cassidy . Crazy storylines, non-stop amazing dialogue, a couple of heartfelt moments, and a shock ending that leaves me gagging to see what happens next. 10/10
Call Me Fitz 2.6
One of the maddest and most creatively self-confident shows on the air. Funny, too. The episode has some killer one-liners, a bizarre story-of-the-week (involving foot fetish, sorta) and a major revelation in the season’s ongoing story arc. It is delicious. 9/10

Pat Bullard . A mostly stand-alone episode, that kinda gets in the way of the ongoing story arc. Forces of good and evil clearly defined here, and there are a couple of very funny sequences. But, in general, it felt like a detour from the main action of the show. 7/10
Call Me Fitz 2.4
- Great to see Josh getting some major screentime. It’s overdue.
- But conversely the show kinda suffers from not having as much Larry/Fitz screentime as usual.
- Love the darkness of the odd ongoing story arc.
- Love the way Fitz’s past misdeeds (from previous episodes) come back to haunt him.
- Great cliffhanger.

Zoie Palmer , dyslexia! Another wonderfully offensive half-hour of sublime comedy. Josh has all the funniest scenes, and his b-story wonderfully impacts on the a-story when you least expect it. Clever. But mostly just relentlessly laugh-out-loud funny from start to finish. 10/10

Sarah Strange . As well as all the witty dialogue, and the surreal stories (voodoo dolls!), the show manages to inject real emotion at the oddest places and make us care about the characters, such as Sonja’s attempts to get Fitz to treat her like a girlfriend. Those moments, as much as all the great comedy, are why the show is wonderful. 10/10

Prophecy. In many ways, shows like this are a successor to shows like The Slap Maxwell Story from the ’80s, in that you have an ostensibly dislikeable main character who you end up liking despite all the horrible things they do. In shows like this casting is paramount. And you really can’t get better than Jason Priestley if you want to make your main character someone the audience will cheer for. No matter what.
This opener finds our hero in more dire straits than usual, and there’s the start of a mysterious new story arc… 9/10
