- A lot of screentime is devoted to contrived Felicity/William storyline, which is unconvincing. The ultimatum delivered by Samantha way back seemed like a lazy for the writers to create conflict between Oliver and Felicity and now here we are: the payoff.
- Beyond that, I enjoyed seeing Vixen on the show and it was refreshing to see our heroes finally get the upper hand on Damien Darhk.
- The Thea/Malcolm scene at the end was good.

Arrow 4.13
Great scenes from John Barrowman are the highlight of this strong episode. Story manages to successfully create, and later pay off, some worthwhile and interesting dilemmas. 9/10
Arrow 4.10
The flash-forwards are the best thing here, building up the tension/intrigue. And Neal McDonough was well used. The story-of-the-week was solid. We could probably have done without scenes of Oliver bickering with his team, since that’s been done to death on the show. But Alexander Calvert made a good villain of the week. And Janet Kidder‘s scene at the end bodes very well for her character, too. 9/10
Arrow 4.8
- Not quite as strong as part one but still excellent. Great use of time travel, and the scenes with Cisco and Kendra basically stole the show for me. Those scenes of his love slipping away were just the one-foot-in-reality that the storyline needed to work. And it was all rather touching.
- The other big storyline, concerning Oliver’s kid, was okay, but was marred somewhat by both Samantha and (especially) Felicity being completely unfair to Oliver. Felicity, in particular, seemed completely out of character. And needlessly mean.
Arrow 4.6
- Charlotte Ross. No real story, per se. A major character returns and a couple of story arcs inch forward ever so slightly. Felicity’s mother also returned, and… it had zero impact upon the episode. So… what was the point of that?
- Oliver and Felicity had a fight. Of sorts. But, again, there was nothing much gained by us sitting through it. Filler.
- Action scenes were good. Flashbacks were good. And Caity Lotz was great, but given very little screentime. The Sara/Thea situation continues to be the most interesting thing happening this season.

Matt Ryan, Parker Young. Another good script, with some great scenes for Katie Cassidy and several strong action sequences. Laurel’s speech to Oliver was terrific, as was his eventual reaction to her. The Diggle/Lance partnership was also very enjoyable to watch. 10/10

Jeri Ryan, Echo Kellum. Some spectacular fight scenes and, in the final third, the start of three promising story arcs. We also get a lot of scenes in the flashback story, and it’s pretty much set-up by the end of the episode. Still not convinced by the twist surrounding Lance, and I still hate Diggle’s stupid helmet. 9/10

Arrow 4.1
- Seeing Neal McDonough on the show is cool, it feels like a real heavy-hitter has come to town.
- Terrific performance from Stephen Amell in this episode. He really shows us a new, lighter shade of Oliver: his body, his tone, his… everything.
- Full praise to the show for hitting the ground running and establishing a new story arc, and a new ‘big bad’ in the opening minutes of the episode.
- The twist at the end? Hmmm? Very unlikely twist indeed. Surely it’s a case of someone heroic going undercover or something?
- The flash-forward was subtle and brilliant. Definitely gonna hook us all for the next six months.
- Great start to the flashback-story-arc.
- I don’t like Diggle’s stupid helmet.
