Swingtown. Pilot. When any new show starts, I come to it in the same frame of mind: There is very little that is new, so what can this story offer me that previous identical shows haven't. There are, after all, only seven stories in all of fiction (Orpheus, Achilles, Cinderella, Tristan & Isolde, Circe, Romeo & Juliet and Faust) and most televsion shows take one of them and do it every week, week after week after week, with different characters.
Swingtown is about three married couples. Seen that before. Some of them have teenage kids and those kids get storylines, too. Seen that before. Some of the couples are swingers. Some aren't. Not see that before!
Plus the whole thing is set in the 1970s. Count me in!
