01:30 Laurel And Hardy
Laurel And Hardy. 1929, Film 5. "They Go Boom" is a lot like their previous film. it takes one situation (one setting; one central idea) and generates a multitude of gags. In this case it is 3am: Stan and Ollie are in their appartment and Ollie has a bad cold. Stan attempts to take care of his friend, but manages instead to burst a pipe, spill things over Ollie and incur the wrath of the landlord/police. Amongst other things. As with their previous film, you are never ten seconds away from a good chuckle, but - lacking a great sequence - it's still not one of my favourites.
