5:00 Moonlight

Moonlight. Episode 6. Not as strong as recent episodes, but that doesn't matter any more. I'm sold on Moonlight. I've passed the point where I would give up on it. I'm a fan. It's a cool show, with a style all it's own. And while this episode isn't weak by any means, it does fail to sparkle like some of the recent ones have. Not sure why. The central idea is very strong: Mick tracks a vampire who is killing her own kind so she can use their blood as a drunk to sell to non-vampires. Apparently it gives us a high. Interesting.

Especially when Beth takes some and comes on to Mick. It's a fun scene: The stars have a natural chemistry. But I don't think it's necessarily the Hot-Passionate-Sex-Vibe that the show would like us to believe. It's seems like a more natural, more comfortable, Lovers-Vibe. That's just as cool to watch, but this particular script didn't reflect it. The previous episode did a better job when Beth was asking Mick how vampires managed sex. That conversations might have been written so that it would play like a Moonlighting scene, but it played more like real-life lovers teasing one another. And was all the more fun for it.

Am I making sense?

Anyway. Cool show.
