08:30 CSI
09:30 Doctor Who
10:30 Prison Break
11:30 Entourage
CSI. Season 5, Episode 14. Nothing special about this outing, but still a very enjoyable hour of TV. Catherine's crew investigage the death of a bear and a hunter, while Gil's crew (including the horrible Sofia) track a missing woman and (after they find her) her murderer. Both cases were involving and satisfying. We also got to see a short snippet of Sara being jealous of Sofia (who is horrible).
Doctor Who. Season 28, Episode 3. Anthony Head's great guest performance should be the highlight of this episode, but it's not. This is the episode that brings Sarah Jane back to the world of Doctor Who. And K-9 of course! And, man, but it's great to see them. Elisabeth Sladen is still as fanciable as ever after all these years and I - frankly - have no idea what was going in the episode, I was just smitten with having Sarah Jane back working with The Doctor. Great touch having Rose become all jealous. This is such a clever show. These guys really know how to write this world of time lords and alien invasions and they have an uncanny knack of giving the fans what they have always wanted from the show.
Prison Break. Season 3, Episode 9. The key elements of a great Prison Break episode are in place here: you are constantly wondering things like "What is Michael up to?" "How will [fill-in-the-blank] get out of this?" "I can't believe [fill-in-the-blank] has happened" and "What can possibly happen next?". Yes, of course, the plotting of Linc and Sucre was a tad simplistic but - of course - it's perfectly in tune with the character of Linc, who is all thunder and bluster and not much in the way of subtlety or cleverness. It's absolutely fascinating to watch the uneasy alliances between Michael and Whistler or T-Bag and Alex. Yes, it's exactly what they did back in Season One, but who cares? They do it so well, I'm more than happy to go along for the ride once again. Best bit? Bellick wins his fight. Holy Frak!
Entourage. Season 2, Episode 14. So much to love in this superb season finale. The normally tight unit of friends is torn assunder by Vince's decision not to do Aquaman. But, in the wornderful world of Entourage, the bonds of friendship are very, very strong. Ari gives Eric some surprising advice that seems (for once) to be genuine. Does he have a heart after all? And the ending is superb when Eric decides to stand by Vince as his friend not as his manager. Awesome show.
Highlight? Doctor Who.
