08:00 CSI
09:00 Flight Of The Conchords
CSI. Season 6, Episode 1. Since most of the Back Nine for Season 5 were non-typical episodes, it's great to start off the new season with a nice case-of-the-week episode. Gil covers a fatal fire in a trailer park and Catherine covers the murder of a stripper, left abandoned (and almost naked) in a bad part of town. There's a couple of nice scenes with Nick (referring back to his kidnapping) and there's cool chemistry between him and Gil. "Flying car? That's, uh, that's what we're gonna go with?" And Warrick is now married. Whatever.
Flight Of The Conchords. Episode 5. When I started watching this show I assumed the episodes would be more self-contained. Wrong! It's almost a serial, really. A very funny serial, mind you. Bret's ongoing relationship continues to cause friction. Things only get worse when Jemaine starts dating the girl from Episode 1 again. Bret's ex. The ex he is still madly in love with. Of course, this leads the boys to start competing for her affections. Much to the annoyance of Bret's current girlfriend (the wonderful Sutton Foster). Amid the comedy there's some superb musical numbers, including the sublime Business Time (about making love every Wednesday).
