Blindspot 1.8

  • One of the problems with this episode is not enough Jane/Jaimie Alexander. We are one-third into it before she speaks!
  • It’s also a fairly dreary by-the-numbers story. Nothing to get very excited about.
  • Same goes for the flashbacks. There were a lot of them, and they took up a lot of screentime. Giving us the Mayfair backstory with regard to Daylight. Thing is: I wonder if any of the audience really cares that much about Mayfair. In fact, I’d go so far as to say that they only thing that was interesting about her was the fact that she appeared to be ‘bad’. Now, thanks to this episode, we no longer see her that way. And she is a lot less interesting.
  • Thomas Carter continues to be an interesting baddie, and that scene with Zapata at the end was good.
  • But it’s Jane’s show. And pushing her to the background doesn’t help the show.
