Emma Kennedy, Robert Webb, David Roper. Like all the best episodes of this wonderful show, this is both funny and poignant in equal measure.
- We are in a bank for this installment, and the focus is largely on three characters: two managers and a new employee.
- Some of the highlights include: Elaine trying to explain to a young couple exactly what a mortgage is; and the manager trying to remember the password to get into the vault.
- The script has some nice digs at the corporate mentality, with pointless assessment meetings taking place on an ongoing basis.
- The ending is bittersweet as we see one character elated at the prospect of promotion, this being the only character in the whole place completely oblivious to the branch’s impending closure.
