07:00 Doctor Who
08:00 Superman
Doctor Who. Season 28, Episode 4. The joy of watching Doctor Who - once again - washes over me. This time it is all thanks to Steven Moffat the genius who created Press Gang. Moffat writes like no other writer I know and this wonderful episode of Doctor Who is a prime example of what he can do: A spaceship, far in the future, with time-travel access to various chapters in the life of a young french woman of the 1700s. In an effort to find out what is going on, The Doctor pops in and out through the various portals and - therefore - becomes a part of the woman's life as she grows up.
This is a really special episode. And Sophia Myles, who has taken a while to impress me on Moonlight, simply blew me away here. Her performance and the wonderful idea behind the story made for a beautiful hour of TV. Once again, "Thank You, Steven Moffat!"
Superman. Season 2, Episode 20 is the culmination of a long simmering storyline. Darkseid re-appears. But this time, he plays a larger part in the story. We learn a little more about his son (the one we saw earlier) and his eventual plans for Planet Earth. There is also a lot of major action, and Supes is almost out of his league. Some of the supporting cast are badly injured (giving us a quick glimpse into someone's personal life) and there is a strong cliffhanger to keep us watching. One of the stronger episodes.
