CSI. Season 5, Episode 13. Lots to love in this episode. When Catherine's team discovers two bodies encased in tar Gil comes in early to give a hand (Don't you love Gil? His boundless enthusiasm is hilarious.) Anyway, things take an interesting turn when Sara joins the investigation. As evidence mounts that the bodies (two women) were badly beaten it starts to get to Sara. She gets too tough with a suspect, and then with Catherine. So much so that Jackass Ecklie puts her on suspension and calls for Gil to fire her. (!!)

In parallel with the (engrossing) personal stuff, the (fascinating) case continues to unspool. And it's a nasty one. Also, much like an NCIS I watched last week, it gives the regulars (Nick, Warrick and Catherine) a chance to ponder the meaning of marriage, etc. Hilarious stuff. Meanwhile, Gil and Sara grow closer as she (finally) lets some of her guard down, and tells him some of her (painful) past.

As I said, the case being investiaged seems more brutal than usual and the flashback death scenes are very hard to watch. Misha Collins and Zeljko Ivanek (who played brothers on 24!) are very good as suspects. But, for once, the case takes second place to the superb character development.

Doctor Who. Season 28, Episode 2. The coolness of Doctor Who overwhelms me! Werewolf! Queen Victoria! Torchwood! Martial Arts Fights! Super Location Filming! And the incredible chemistry of Rose and The Doctor, who - despite being in mortal peril - are clearly having the time of their lives. Queen Victoria, as the superb conclusion demonstrates, is clearly not amused by their antics.
