The Big Bang Theory. Episode 17. "The Tangerine Factor" Penny breaks up with her boyfriend.
Our first episode in ages to deal with the whole Leonard-is-in-love-with-Penny thing. And it's very good. In the first half of the episode he's offering mild advice, in an effort to stay well clear of things, and Penny (acting on what she wants to hear, not what he actually said) decides on a course of action because of him. His confusion is funny, and her responses are funny but what makes the episode really special is when Leonard is back with the guys and they are making fun of him.
It all ends well, though. Leonard asks her out. He even kisses her! So the first season ends on an optimistic note.
