The Rockford Files. Season 2, Episode 5. "The Deep Blue Sleep" Beth's friend dies.

Another Season Two episode without a client! Once again, Jim is working for a friend. This time it's Beth. Her friend - a model - has been found dead, after saying she needed Jim's help, so Beth hires Jim to do his thing.

Apart from the novelty of Beth being the client, this is standard case-of-the-week story. Gretchen Corbett gets some nice screentime, as a result, and it's very welcome. She's unbelievable sexy. Especially when running around in a trenchcoat causing me to wonder whether she was wearing anything at all under it. (I'm sure I'm not the only guy wondering such things.)

Robert Webber and Michael Conrad round out the cast (I don't care what either gentleman is wearing under his coat!), and there's a scene for Robert Hays as well.

The ending is cool. Jim steals a cop car and is able to fool the escaping bad guys that it's actually several cars that have them surrounded. Hard not to watch all that without having a big grin of admiration on your face.
