Corner Gas. Season 6, Episode 1. "Full Load" Truck swap, eating contest, mp3 player.
Solid opener to the sixth (and final) season. Wanda is at her mischievous best here as she buys Hank's truck for fourteen dollars (at a badly organised police auction) and proceeds to torture the poor guy with a barrage of one-liners about his new-found pedestrian lifestyle ('Walker, Texas Ranger'). It's silly but, because of the characters, it works.
Maybe it's because it's been a while since I saw an episode, but Gabrielle Miller looks absolutely stunning here. And her storyline is good, too, as Lacey wins an eating contest. Perfect story for that character and a great finish with Brent.
Corner Gas faded a tiny bit in it's latter seasons, and delivered the occasional weak episode but this is not one of those and it bodes well for the sixth (and final) season.
