My Boys. Season 4, Episode 1. "Addition by Subtraction" Andy has moved to China!!
I can't believe Jim Gaffigan is gone. It sucks. That guy is hilarious and he pretty much steals the show in every episode.
Having said that, even taking Gaffigan out of the picture, this is a funny show with great stories and one of the best ensemble casts on television. And the season premiere reminds us of that.
Rather than make a passing remark about Andy being gone, they (wisely) choose to make it the focus for the whole episode. The gang is in need of someone to fill the void at their weekly poker game and the episode details the (unsuccessful and funny) search, while allowing us to see in the flashback how the various members of the group met for the first time. Nice.
Basically, in this episode, you get to see the strengths of the show: stuff that makes you laugh out loud and a group of characters that successfully convey the feeling of being with a group of friends.
Great show. Sad that Gaffigan is gone. And sad that this will be the last season.
