Have Gun - Will Travel. Episode 1. "Three Bells to Perdido" Paladin heads to an isolated Mexican village to find a rancher's daughter.
Solid opening episode. Paladin immediately leaps off the screen as an interesting hero. Part of that is down to Richard Boone, who is a very dynamic leading man. Very macho, confident.
Most of the story has him up against Jack Lord, who pretty much steals the episode. Lord's bad guy is full of swagger and bravado and it's riveting stuff to watch them square off.
In the end, I assumed it would come to a showdown and Paladin would blow him away. Not so. He simply gets the better of him and will be handing him over to the law.
Cool show. The story is good, but what makes the whole affair is Boone/Paladin. Cool guy.
