- I really did bawl my eyes out at the way this ended. And had tears in my eyes for several of the scenes. Such a great story. And such a joy to spend 6 years watching it unfold and get under my skin and deep in my heart.
- The final episode was everything a fan could want. And more.
- In terms of plot-lines, everything got resolved. Bad guys got taken down (shot down) and story arcs set in motion years ago were resolved.
- In terms of themes and subtext, the writers brought their main characters to moments of truth to give us a glance at their true selves. Boyd’s final confrontation with Ava, Raylan’s final conversation with Ava and (most especially) Raylan’s final moments with Boyd… in these scenes we really saw all three of them for who they are. We saw their complexities and we saw their contradictions. And it was so cleverly done. The story machinations that brought us to that emotional final scene were Machiavellian. The dialogue was sometimes beautiful. (Particularly some of the things Boyd said. Especially: “Hell, sometimes, I think the only way to get out of our town alive is to have never been born there.”) The use of lies and the use of truth was remarkable.
- A fitting way to end a show like this. It was always a show as much about the dark as it was about the light, so of course our final moments with these two character had lies and truth in equal measure.

Shea Whigham. Astonishingly good. Maybe their second best episode? Certainly top three. An hour of carefully-orchestrated chaos on the mountain. Delighted to see Constable Bob back on the show, and he was so well used in the story. This was a intense, dramatic hour. With of lot of witty dialogue and laughs. All the best scenes were Boyd scenes. 10/10
Justified 6.11
- Masterful storytelling. Much that has come before had a bearing on what everyone did here. And it was powerful.
- It was an episode of big events and big moments. And big character deaths.
- But if I had to pick out the best moment? It would be the ending to the Wynn-Mikey storyline. Heartbreaking.

- Another episode with so much tension it feels like a ‘final episode’. Plus a couple of great twists. One in particular is deeply shocking.
- In these final episodes of a great run the show has managed (in Jonathan Tucker‘s Boon) to introduce one of the best bad guys they’ve ever created. Chilling.

This was an adrenaline rush from start to finish. Another episode with ‘final season’ written all over it.
- It opened with a big reveal and a murder and then set a big ticking clock under the action as we waited for Boyd’s robbery to take place, and for Raylan’s trap to spring. The twist here was clever and rewarding.
- Jonathan Tucker made a great first impression in his first episode.
- Loretta suddenly became a major player in Harlan it was magnificent to see. Well played, Justified, well played.

Wow, a lot happened in this episode. Characters getting killed off way sooner than expected and a couple of pretty cool twists as well. 10/10

- Felt like a filler episode. Ava went on the run, but… it never felt like a real decision, one that would have lasting consequences for the story arc.
- Instead of feeling exciting or interested, we kinda suspected it would all be over by the end of the episode and that she would be back at home. Which she was.
- In other news, Jeff Fahey showed up. And with Patton Oswalt, Danny Strong and Mykelti Williamson returning… this was an episode with dream guest cast.
Justified 6.2
- After a relatively slow start last week for the season premiere, the show kicks it up a notch big time.
- Garret Dillahunt makes his presence felt. Indeed quite a few scenes were devoted to brand new characters/cast members. This is what 6.1 should have been like.
- The Boyd/Ava scene (with the ledger) was as tense as any scene the show has ever delivered. Likewise, the Boyd/Raylan scene which followed it was truly superb.
- Suddenly, in the space of one great episode, we have an overview of the thrilling new spider’s web that is forming, with various characters (new and regular) tugging on various strands.
- And, finally, there were laugh-out-loud moments aplenty. Just like the show at it’s very best.
Tense, exciting, funny. 10/10

Mary Steenburgen, Jeremy Davies. Lot of story development here. Some of what happens is hysterically funny, some of the twists and turns are fascinating to watch, some of the violence is brutal and difficult to watch, and some of the confrontations are incredibly satisfying and clever. All of it is terrific. There’s a feeling here that momentum is growing towards the end of the season. 10/10
