- Slim idea with a weak ending, which managed to generate laughter here and there in the first two-thirds.
- It had a very strong opening sequence, which was beautifully filmed.
- The building they are moving to is really cool. Feels like a place the show would do well in, for the rest of the season.
- And the Tandy/Lewis feud generated plenty of laughter. For a while. Then with the Carol reveal, everything kinda fizzled.

The Last Man on Earth 3.3
It took them a while to find the character, but Melissa is now almost the best/funniest character in the show. And this episode used her brilliantly to generate laughs and drive a genuinely thought-provoking story. 9/10
The Last Man on Earth 3.2
Lying and scheming are reliable fodder for comedy. Particularly inept lying and scheming. Tandy has a bad track record of this sort of this. And this very funny episode doesn’t change any of that. It works because Will Forte is hilarious and because Tandy’s heart is in the right place this time. 9/10

- Fantastic cliffhanger.
- Like the direction they are taking the Melissa character. Bodes well.
- I’m giving this 9/10 because, while the stuff with the brothers is good, it’s basically a re-thread of what we already saw in the last episode. Right?

Superb mixture of comedy and drama. And heartbreak. Can’t remember when I saw a sitcom so comfortable with killing off regulars and death in general. A rare beast, this one. 10/10

- I don’t think there’s ever been an episode that so brilliantly conveys what an odd group of people this is. The world they have built for themselves is insane.
- Mary Steenburgen gets all the best lines here.

The growing pains of having a new regular character to deal with sucked the laughs from this one. The whole episode was build around the brothers’ relationship and there just weren’t enough laughs in the mix to sustain a full episode. 6/10

Jason Sudeikis, Mark Boone Junior. Funny and dark. So cool to see a show completely abandon it’s entire cast/premise for an episode. 10/10
The Last Man on Earth 2.10
Wow, that was intense. Most dramatic episode they have done. Also had some of the biggest laughs ever on the show (the scene where Todd and Tandy came to tell Gail the news was so damn funny). Wow, this show is quite an achievement. No idea what happens next… 10/10

Another winner. Solid mixture of comedy and drama, plus a couple of nice twists/surprises. Particularly the one at the very end (concerning Phil’s change of heart and return to the group). Mary Steenburgen got some very good scenes here, and a couple of killer one-liners. 10/10

- This show has evolved a lot. It’s now no more a “comedy” than Transparent. It’s really quite serious in tone.
- There are laughs, of course. All of which center on the amazing Will Forte. He brings the funny, while the rest of the cast are given increasingly heavy material.
- It’s very different to season one.
- And, based on episodes like this, it works just fine.

Successfully follows a predictable but hugely enjoyable path. Many comedy hightlights. The best? Probably the eating and re-eating of the same cheese over and over! Wonderful. 9/10
