Dexter 8.11

The show seems poised to go out with a whimper, not a bang. But in a good way. With a happy ending. This was a good episode. The a-story has descended to by-the-numbers stuff, and is instantly forgettable (now that the character killed last week is gone). But the b-story and character development are top notch. And there are some really great scenes that bring finality to everything. Nice, too, that they brought somebody back from an earlier season for a cameo. 9/10

Dexter 8.9

Kenny Johnson. Pieces finally fall into place. Predictable or not, this is riveting stuff. Stomach in knots, fearful, because so many things can go wrong for Dexter, Hannah, Deb, etc. at this stage. And I really want them all to find a happy ending. Great performances form Jennifer Carpenter and Charlotte Rampling. And the best scene? Deb and Hannah having a meal together. Bringing those two characters together is very important, if the show is going to give us a happy ending at the end of the season. 10/10

Dexter 8.8

The most lighthearted and romantic episode. Yes, there was a horrific twist at the end, but… such a sweet episode. Regarding that twist: I was disappointed by it, as they has built up a ‘family’ around Dexter and it seems a shame to destroy all that. Still, it’s going to make for an interesting final few episodes… 10/10

Dexter 8.3

Cannibal. Really stunning, not just for the twists and performances, but for the depth of analysis into Dexter’s nature. 10/10
