03.30 Flying Blind
Flying Blind. Episode 9. "The Heartbreak Id" Alicia goes into therapy.
While it may, or may not, be the funniest episode of Flying Blind this one certainly contains the funniest (and most memorable) moments of the entire series. It's also the first episode where there is no outside force causing problems between Neil and Alicia. All the early episodes feature external problems trying to tear the couple apart. Not this one. This time it is Alicia's inability to get intimate with Neil that drives the story.
(The always superb) Bob Dishy guests as the therapist who advises Neil and Alicia to completely abstain from sex, as a means towards solving their issues. Neil's frustration with this advice is what drives the comedy for much of the episode. And it is hilarious.
There's one scene where Alicia eats chinese food in a suggestive way that is painfully funny. I don't know how the writers/producers were able to get FOX to screen it, but I'm glad they did. It's a scene that has stayed with me, and amused me, for years.
