03.30 Road Runner
Road Runner. Film 3. "Going! Going! Gosh!" Once again the gag that gave me the biggest chuckle was the sight of RR holding up a sign with a relevant comment on it. They do it in every film and I love it every time. It's wonderful cartoon logic, I guess, and that's why I love it. The idea of the Road Runner having this sign to hand, which says exactly what he needs to convey.
I love it even more than the other classic example of cartoon logic on display here: Coyote paints a scene on something and RR runs into it. In this case the logic defying gag takes place high up on a cliff and after running into the scene (and through a canvas) Coyote falls to his comeuppance through a cloud of smoke spelling "Oh No!".
Ah, classic.
