The Big Bang Theory. Season 3, Episode 1. "The Electric Can Opener Fluctuation" The guys return from the Artic.

BBT is consistently laugh-out-loud funny. There are other comedy shows on the air, and they are often very amusing and all, but with BBT you are laughing out loud. Constantly from start to finish.

A nice plot to open the new season. Driven - as is often the case - by how the others react to Sheldon and his quirks.

The advancement in the Leonard/Penny romance is - wisely - kept in the background. Yes, we want them to get together but we don't necessarily need to see whole episodes devoted to it. Sam and Diane they're not.

Torchwood. Episode 7. "Greeks Bearing Gifts" Tosh meets a hot chick, and discovers a way to read the thoughts of people.

Tosh, the least-developed character so far, takes centre-stage for another superb episode of Torchwood. Sure, it - once again - is largely driven by a member of the Torchwood team behaving like an undisciplined idiot but - damn - it's a cracker of a story.

Naoko Mori carries the episode with ease and Daniela Denby-Ashe is the best guest villain the show has had so far.

I loved every second of this, but - seriously - the Torchwood crew are inept protectors of the planet. Forever breaking their own rules and allowing all sorts of bad stuff to happen...

Legend Of The Seeker. Episode 14. Richard returns to "Hartland"

I love when a show starts playing around with the rules of the world that it has created for itself. Here's a case in point: Richard returns to his home town and meets with his brother.

Bruce Spence is missing (because Zed left the travellers at the end of the previous episode) but Jessica Chapnik gets a second episode as a guest star and Jay Laga'aia (who is almost a recurring cast member, and who certainly deserves to be even if he's not) returns to advance the story of Chase and his family.

Mid-season the show has been consistently delivering strong stories every week and this is one of the best, with great guest characters and great creatures to defeat.

Supernatural. Season 4, Episode 21. "When The Levee Breaks" Sam vs. Dean

Superb stuff. Brother against brother and - to be honest - each has a point. Supernatural is a remarkable show. Four seasons in and it has crafted an exquisite backstory and two main character who are living and breathing. Whose reactions to what is happening to them makes perfect sense.

Sometimes a show will put one regular against another. And it doesn't always work. But in this case it's perfect. We understand it. We understand why each brother feels that he is correct and it makes the fighting all the more painful.

Parks And Recreation. Season 2, Episode 2. "The Stakeout" Leslie and Tom on stakeout. Ann and Mark on a date. Ron in pain, with April helping him out.

Nice even episode. All plots are amusing and there are laughs to be had everywhere. Ron's pain is probably the source of the most laughs and Louis C.K. makes a great guest star as a cop who takes a shine to Leslie. Understandable. She's adorable.

Highlight? Legend Of The Seeker (Richard goes home)
