After a lazy by-the-numbers first half, the episode delivers a strong second-half with genuine shocks and tension, and a firm resolution to the overall story that - to me - doesn’t make thematic sense (with regard to everything we have seen over the eight seasons). It’s certainly not the ending I would have written. But, it’s a mostly strong episode. My only gripe is with the endings given to Deb and Dexter. They didn’t deserve that, no matter how guilty they may have felt about their past misdeeds. 8/10
