Masters Of Sex 2.12

  • Libby is the most interesting/sympathetic character here. She has really come into her own in these past couple of episodes. Caitlin FitzGerald is nothing short of superb. Most of her scenes are riveting.

  • The Lester/Barbara story gets better every week, but it still feels like a poor imitation of the Barton/Scully storyline from last season.

  • The Austin/Flo plot takes a new direction in this episode, but still fails to have any sort of weight/significance when compared to the others. If it was dropped for Season Three I would not miss it.

  • Bill Masters continues to be a worthy lynchpin for the series. He is a perfect anti-hero: Flawed, arrogant and selfish. Her hurts people. Yet, his goals are noble and he sometimes shows remarkable compassion.

  • This was a key episode for Virginia. The audience’s sympathies lay with her husband for most of the episode, I feel, a marked contrast to Libby who is not the show’s most sympathetic character.
